Meta notifies about 1,500 people after GitHub repositories breached through stolen employee credentials
Meta disclosed on October 13 that attackers used an employee's stolen credentials to access some of its GitHub repositories. About 99 percent of what was taken was business data, mainly product source code; about 1 percent was personal information affecting roughly 1,500 people, most of them US employees. Meta says a significant portion of the apparent personal data was synthetic or anonymized test data, its internal systems were not breached, and notifications began October 13.
