An indictment unsealed in the Northern District of Ohio charges 14 people over a scheme that placed North Korean remote IT workers, using stolen US identities, at more than 70 US companies between 2019 and July 2025, generating about $3 million. Two US facilitators were arrested. The FBI's Operation Lonestar Roundup searched more than 40 Texas residences in September and seized about 187 laptops and KVM devices used by the laptop farms.
