A Texas Attorney General disclosure shows that 1,062,060 Texas residents were affected by a data breach at CenterPoint Energy, with names, addresses, Social Security numbers and driver license numbers exposed. The intrusion ran from August 19 to 22, 2026 and was discovered on September 9; the company first disclosed it in an SEC filing on September 14, and operations were not affected.
