Baker Lab publishes AI-designed proteases in Nature

Researchers at the Baker Lab have published de novo AI-designed proteases in Nature: enzymes designed from scratch to cleave chosen protein sequences.

The designs include zinc and cysteine proteases aimed at disease-linked targets such as TDP-43, amyloid-beta, and serum amyloid A, a concrete step from predicting protein shapes to building molecular tools.
