Nvidia is discussing a deeper investment in or acquisition of Reflection AI (Financial Times via Reuters), the 2024 DeepMind spinout that released the 501B-parameter open-weight MoE model Beam on October 5. Structures include an acqui-hire (staff plus licensed technology, sidestepping full merger review, as in Nvidia's $20B Groq deal). The move would shift Nvidia from chip supplier to open-weight model owner in the US lane against DeepSeek and Kimi.
